Our ranch’s history includes over one hundred years of dairying family tradition in Marin and Sonoma Counties. Our Swiss-Italian family immigrated from Switzerland in the late 1890’s and settled into Marin County. Our great-grandparents (Grossi) purchased their first dairy farm on Novato Blvd, where they milked 150 cows twice a day. With much success they expanded their operation by purchasing five more ranches in Marin where they are all still owned and operated by our family today. Our other great-grandparents (Bianchi) immigrated from Northern Italy in the early 1900’s and purchased our family’s Jersey dairy ranch in Valley Ford, which is in full production today, Mountain View Jerseys. That’s five generations of us, milking a prize-winning herd of 400 cows every day for the last hundred years, right here on the lush rolling pastures above the Estero Americano. Paul Bianchi and his two children Karen Bianchi-Moreda and Steve Bianchi currently own and operate Mountain View Jerseys.

Cows are what we know and what we do. We are very proud of our heritage as dairy farmers, and pleased to be creating brand new cheeses based on the traditional methods of cheesemaking that our ancestors used many years ago.
